Ayurvedic Treatments

Shirodhara | 1 hr $90 | 3 sessions for $70 each

Shiro = head, dhara = flow.
A continuous flow of warm, herbal infused oil across the forehead and third eye. This treatment is deeply nourishing and rejuvenating for the nervous system, helping to relieve anxiety, insomnia, overwhelm, and exhaustion due to mental and emotional stress.

Kati basti | 30 – 45 min | $50

A dam made of whole wheat flour is placed on the lower back / sacrum area. Warm, medicated oil is poured into the dam, while the affected area is massaged. Fresh warm oil is continuously replenished. This ‘hip bath’ sends the medicinal qualities of the oil deep into the tissue, providing relief to inflamed / achy joints. Good for sciatica, chronic lower back pain, and menstrual disorders.

Netra basti | 30 – 45 min | $50

A whole wheat dam is placed around the eye. Warm ghee is then slowly poured and retained in the dam, covering the eye. This treatment is soothing, anti-inflammatory, and rejuvenating to dry, strained eyes. A wonderful treatment for tired and overworked eyes due to overuse of computer screens, reading, or intense focus. Also effective for anxiety, nervous tension, and mental fatigue.

Heart basti | 30 – 45 min | $50

For the exhausted, overworked, depleted, or anxious heart. A dam made of whole wheat flour is gently placed around the heart area, into which warm, herbal infused oil is slowly poured. Fresh warm oil is continuously added, bathing the heart in sneha, the Sanskrit word meaning both ‘oil’ and ‘love’. A wonderful opportunity to give nourishment back to your heart, particularly during or after difficult times.

Shiro-Abhyanga-Nasya | 1 hr | $60

A warm eucalyptus steam inhalation is followed by a ginger compress and massage to the back, neck, and shoulders. Then, a face and head massage incorporating specific marma points helps to open the channels of breathing and relaxation. Several drops of herbalized nasya oil are administered into the nasal passages, soothing the sinuses and enhancing respiration. An invigorating peppermint foot massage completes the treatment.

Abhyanga + Shirodhara | 2 hr | $175

The ultimate in restoration and relaxation! For those needing the deepest kind of physical and mental-emotional rejuvenation, enjoy a 1.5 hr Abhyanga massage, followed by 30 minutes of Shirodhara. Discounts available for multiple sessions.

Ayurvedic Medicine Consultations

I practice a system of complementary health care that takes into consideration your complete story – including not only your symptoms, but their underlying causes. Mental, emotional, dietary, and environmental triggers may all be influencing your health. I use natural medicines – herbs, food, and lifestyle practices – as my main tools to help support the body return to, and remain in, a state of health. I work with all people with all kinds of health concerns, both acute and chronic in nature. Specialities include women’s health, digestive system concerns, mental / emotional issues, sleep disorders, and low energy.

As an Ayurvedic and herbal medicine practitioner, I emphasize restoring balance by attuning to Nature’s natural rhythms. By understanding the strengths and challenges inherent in our individual constitution (Prakriti), and by discovering our current state of imbalance (Vikriti), we are much better prepared to choose a diet and lifestyle that complements our unique needs at a certain time.

In these modern and complex times, there are many factors contributing to our state of health. Stress, our digestive system capacity and daily nutrition, elimination pathways, sleep issues, and hormonal imbalance are some of the most common ‘root causes’ of disease. These will all be addressed in depth during our consultation, as well as any other contributing factors unique to your situation.

The initial consultation is approximately 1.5 hours. In a private consultation, we will address your health concerns in depth, discussing any medical diagnosis made, your past medical and family history, medications and supplement use, diet and nutrition, exercise, sleep patterns, areas of enjoyment and/or stress in your life, and your specific goals.

Together we will explore your health and look for areas that can be improved using natural options. I will create a customized herbal medicine formula for you, which may include tea, powdered herbs, and/or herbal extracts. All of the herbs I use in clinic are organic and/or ethically wildcrafted.

It is my goal to help you make more sense of your state of health, and support you to develop a wellness plan that is practical, do-able, and customized for you.

Consultations are educational in nature and do not replace the care of your medical doctor or surgeon. While I am educated in Western medical theory, I do not provide a medical diagnosis, but may explain things from an Ayurvedic or Eastern medicine perspective.

Philosophy is that which allows you to see things in a certain way.

Ayurveda is a philosophy which allows physicians to see their patients the way Nature sees them.
